They say moving house is one of the most stressful things you can do.

I’d agree, and at the time of writing this, I’ve only just begun ????

It has, of course, been a process underway for quite some time.

The paperwork. The box-ticking. The forms and process and blah blah blah.

It’s an exciting period, don’t get me wrong. But also frustrating.

and now, as we start the actual move from one house to another…

(takes a deep breath)

It’s A LOT ????

BUT… I’ve been reminded of something important during this stressful period, and I am excited to share it with you – but first, there’s this ????????

Slow or Steady: Is This Outdated Advice for Today’s Worldshould you take it slow and steady these days? Is it even possible? Is it even the point ????

3 actions to take this week

this week’s featured book

The Dharma Bums by Jack Kerouac — a great book to lose yourself in as the weather turns warmer (and a great deal lighter).

I read it while training for my first marathon.

It brings some great, pride-filled memories.

One of my fave creators, Munecat, recently dropped a new video, and, as always, it’s an interesting DEEP DIVE filled with thought-provoking moments.

Okay… moving house… quite the ordeal.

Over the last week, Vee and me have taken daily trips to the new place, filling the car with boxes, bags, and as much “small stuff” as possible.

(ahead of the removal van arriving later this week)

It feels like we’ve taken a lot.

The countless trips up and down the stairs attest to this.

Yet I look around and it feels like we’ve done nothing ????

Still boxes. Still so much *stuff*.

It reminds me of growth in general, be it personal or professional.

When you pursue a new goal, it feels far far away.

You make small steps, yet it feels like it makes no difference.

Tiny incremental movements, wins, milestones, etc…

You *know* you’re doing something and you know it makes a difference. Yet you don’t see it. You don’t notice it.

Until one day you take a moment to reflect and realize how far you’ve come.

That small habit has made a difference, and that goal that once felt so far away is now behind you; YOU already on to the next one.

I currently see this happening in real time.

In a few days, those daily trips with bags in hand will feel more noticeable. Pictures no longer on the wall. Not as much clutter.

This home will become no more than a house.

Small steps add up.

But you don’t notice them. At least, not at first and not unless you take the time to stop, step back, and look around.

True when moving house, but also with any goal you pursue.

Thanks for reading today, my friend, and here’s to you taking “it all in” this week. You’re doing well, far better than you likely give yourself credit for.
