My friend, to strive in this modern world is not easy. 

It’s been a heavy few years with so much chaos.

It kinda feels like it’s leading up to something BIG.

The sort of something that results in it all burning to the ground 🔥

But that isn’t what this email is about because I have no idea what the future holds. All I do know is that the last few years have been “heavy”, the current situation of LIFE (for most people) is “complex”, and the importance of looking after YOU 🫵 is more important than ever — yet also seemingly tougher to achieve 😞

That’s why, today, I’d like to shine a light on FOCUS 👀

… brain fog… keeping your attention… staying on top…

FOCUS, keeping it, this week… it’s been a struggle for me 👎

I’ve been on and off ill for a few weeks, and I’m thinking I may have some form of Long Covid. The tiredness and fatigue. The brain fog. The inability to exercise, and when I do try the aftermath exhaustion….

I do not like it 😠

So if you know how to fix this, let me know please 🙂

Although this isn’t to do with illness per se, but rather the generality of FOCUS and how hard it can be to gather, let alone maintain, in 2024. This isn’t a new struggle for me. I’ve just noticed it more the last week because I’ve been stuck at home, working from bed, very much conscious of how brain-foggy I’ve been.

Yet it’s often like this. The only difference is I’m usually out there in the real world, so I don’t notice it as much.

But the flipping from one task to another; the too-long-to-do-list; the underlying expectation to say YES to almost everything and be “on it”; to be there for others; to step up, and, if you don’t, the worry it makes you inadequate 😞

I’ve noticed this within me this week; the feelings and worries and reality.

Yet I have also seen it in others: those I know and love.

FOCUS is hard these days. Finding it is tough, but keeping it is near impossible. So I guess what I’m saying is that if you can relate to any of this — even if just a little — know you’re not alone.

More importantly, know you are enough and are doing better than you appreciate.

Keep at it, my friend, and take some time today to question all “this”.

Give yourself a break, give yourself a literal break, and focus your focus on the aspects of your life that will bring YOU the greatest return.
